Free Films for Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week
During the week of October 12-16, the David Horowitz Freedom Center will stage a nationwide event called “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week IV: Stop the Campus War Against Israel and the Jews.” The Freedom Center intends to attack the culture of stigma that demonizes the state of Israel—the only bastion of democracy in the autocratic Middle East—and welcomes anti-Semitic zealots to campus while harassing those who speak up to defend Israel and America.
Students on over 100 campuses across the nation plan to participate in the Week by hosting speakers, showing films, and participating in a petition campaign to draw attention to the recent surge of anti-Semitism on campus and the threat we face from radical Islam.
For a limited time only, the David Horowitz Freedom Center is providing FREE COPIES of several ground-breaking films on the terrorist threat to students who plan to screen them on their campuses during Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.
Normally, purchasing a copy of one of these films for a screening would cost you about $100, but we will provide a FREE COPY of the movie(s) of your choice to screen during Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. We will also add your campus to the list of schools participating in Islamo-Fascism Awareness Day on our website, www.terrorismawareness.org.
The films available for screening are:
NEW FEATURED FILM – The Case for Israel: Democracy’s Outpost
Description: Israel is under attack—not only by terrorists who deny its basic right to exist, but also in the court of world opinion, which seeks to marginalize Israel as a human rights pariah that sanctions apartheid. Rising in vigorous defense of the Jewish homeland in this landmark documentary, Alan Dershowitz, distinguished Harvard Law School professor and outspoken champion of human rights, presents evidence from leading diplomats, historians, legal experts and government officials on both sides of the political spectrum to make the definitive case for Israel’s legitimacy and right to self-defense.
Dershowitz argues forcefully that real peace in the Middle East can only occur when the Palestinians, Arabs and their allies finally value the creation of a Palestinian homeland more than they oppose the presence of a Jewish state. Through incisive conversations with commentators ranging from Ambassador Dennis Ross and former Israel Supreme Court President Aharon Barak to Opposition Leader Benjamin Netanyahu and historians Michael Oren and Benny Morris, Dershowitz refutes deeply entrenched misperceptions about Israel’s history, Jewish claims to a homeland, individual rights under Israel’s democratic system of government, the security fence, and military conduct in the face of terrorist attacks.
He closes with a formidable warning that the greatest threat to Israel is also the greatest threat to international peace and security: Iran’s aggressive nuclear ambitions, driven by a zealous anti-Zionist, anti-democratic mission that is championed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Unchecked, a nuclear-armed Iran or its terrorist surrogate would imperil targets far beyond Tel Aviv.
The Path to 9/11 (longer film—may require two nights for screening)
Description: This controversial ABC miniseries dramatizes the 1993 World Trade Center attack and the events leading up to the terrorist attack of September 11th. Due to pressure from Bill Clinton and his supporters, ABC was forced to edit out several crucial scenes before the broadcast. While this miniseries may never be released, we are lucky to have the full, unedited version intended for broadcast on DVD.
Obsession
Description: The acclaimed documentary Obsession uses unique footage from Arab television to create an ‘insiders’ view of the hatred Islamic radicals are teaching in the Middle East, their incitement of global jihad, and their goal of world domination. The film features interviews with Daniel Pipes, Steve Emerson, Alan Dershowitz, a former PLO terrorist, and even a former Hitler Youth commander.
Islam: What the West Needs to Know
Description: Using original interviews, citations from Islamic texts, Islamic artwork, computer-animated maps, footage of Western leaders, and Islamic television broadcasts, Islam: What the West Needs to Know reveals the roots of the violent, expansionist ideology of Al-Qaeda and other Islamic jihadist groups, showing how they seek the destruction or subjugation of other faiths, cultures, and systems of government. In so doing, this presentation paves the way for courageous Islamic reformers to confront and formulate a new approach to the Islamic teachings that the jihadists exploit.
Quantities of each film are limited, so please respond promptly to receive the best selection. Please let us know which day you plan to screen the film, and make sure to reserve an appropriate auditorium. Forms giving you permission to screen the film on campus are available through the David Horowitz Freedom Center.
More information on holding other events for Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week (hosting speakers, petition drives, etc) is available in our Student Guide to Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.
