Every Valentine's Day, colleges and universities across the country share the gospel of radical feminism.  Some offer seminars attacking America's "patriarchal" society.  Others pass out "flowers" made of condoms in order to promote "safe", casual sex.  Many schools host a performance of The Vagina Monologues, a feminist (and sometimes offensive) play by Eve Ensler.

For many, The Vagina Monologues is an over-the-top theatrical glorification of the hook-up culture, feminine "liberation" and physical satisfaction.  "The play... distorts human sexuality by placing sinful activity in a favorable light," said a statement by the Cardinal Newman Society (CNS), a Catholic advocacy organization. 

Christians often see the play as a direct attack on their faith.  In one scene, Ensler mocks Christian salvation by portraying the lesbian rape of a teenage girl as her "salvation" from the bonds of heterosexuality.  The play even refers to the girl's experience as, "a kind of Heaven."

With the Supreme Court set to once again hear arguments related to the use of racial preferences for admission to higher education, it's worth noting that this debate did not simply go away since its last time in the SCOTUS spotlight nine years ago at the University of Michigan. 

In California, the other state besides Michigan to pass a voter-approved Civil Rights Initiative prohibiting racial preferences in public education (Proposition 209), the campus left of UC Berkeley has worked tirelessly to grind their axes and raise their numbers on the issue, comparing Proposition 209 to Jim Crow segregation when the measure faced an appeal last week at the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

In fact, the UC Berkeley student government succeeded in allocating $400 to send a bus of left-wing activists to the San Francisco-based court to protest for the return of race-based preferences for admissions.

True to their spendthrift ways, only 3 people were on the bus when it left the Berkeley campus. The rest of the activists decided to take the city's light rail train...and then "protest" by refusing to pay their fares.

For a group of people who get by dismissing their opponents as selfish, leftists sure seem to engage in a lot of unsustainable, me-first behavior with other people's money.
