Fresno State Activist Hires Attorney To Combat Administration

By Timothy Dionisopoulos, on September 08, 2011

The debate on illegal immigration is heating up at CSU-Fresno

Neil O'Brien, a student activist, is facing disciplinary charges from Fresno State administrators as a result of his activism on campus on the issue of illegal immigration.  Neil has been on a campaign to bring awareness to this issue since coming to Fresno State last fall.

When Fresno State Student Body President Pedro Ramirez declared he was an illegal immigrant, and advocated on behalf of the DREAM Act, O'Brien campaigned to bring awareness to this issue.

Neil  created a website to contest the fact that an illegal immigrant was student body president.  Upon further investigation, Neil's research lead to the discovery of a voter registration record matching Ramirez.  He also found that Ramirez was involved in a car accident which means he was driving without a license, and that he had illegally been employed in the country.

Campus Administration Prevents Conservative From Graduating

By Charles Cox, on September 01, 2011

When Fresno State student Neil O'Brien found racist and extreme comments on the Myspace page of then ASI President Pedro Ramirez, he had no idea the impact he was about to have on his campus. Now, a year later, O'Brien is still on the front lines of the battle between fair-minded students and the radical left.

VIDEO: Free Speech...Except for Conservatives

By Adam Weinberg, on May 23, 2011

Check out this video taken at California State University, Fresno. Virtually everybody shown here says they think free speech is great - but they've got no problem signing a petition to ban conservative media personalities like Glenn Beck from the nation's airwaves.

Fresno State Student Fights to Expose Illegal Alien Student Body President

By Michael Thompson, on January 26, 2011

The spring semester of 2011 at Fresno State is going to provide a lot of fireworks, courtesy of Neil O'Brien. Remember him? He was the student that gave a presentation at the student government meeting in December of 2010, arguing against the DREAM Act. He wasalso the one restrained during that same meeting when members of the militant Brown Berets claimed California belonged to Mexico.

Brown Berets Verbally Attack U.S. and Tea Party at Fresno State Student Government Debate on DREAM Act

By Michael Thompson, on January 19, 2011

The DREAM Act was defeated by the Senate in late December, but the bill allowing a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants who attend college was widely supported on college campuses in the western states.

Tense demonstrations were held across the campuses of the California university system, but none fiercer then the one held at CSU-Fresno (Fresno State). The Collegian reports:

A diverse crowd greeted the Associated Students, Inc. at their bi-weekly meeting Wednesday. ASI voted on a resolution in support of the DREAM Act which won by a majority.

The paper explains the purpose of the DREAM Act and reports that the meeting was well attended. While many were in support of the act, there was a large segment of community members in attendance that were against the resolution. The article then goes on to discuss the clash between the Brown Berets and those oppose the resolution.

Fresno State Pushes DREAM Act in Campus Rally

By Brittney Caan, on November 22, 2010

Since The Collegian published that the president of Fresno State's Associated Students Inc. (ASI), Pedro Ramirez is a illegal immigrant, there has been lots of talk on campus.

On Friday, Ramirez held a campus rally to push for the DREAM Act, which would provide illegal immigrants who graduated from US high schools the chance to become permanent residents by serving in the military or by graduating from a US college.

The rally lasted from 11am to 1pm and was intended to help students get the DREAM Act voted into law. Speakers at the event included Pedro Ramirez; other students who are illegal immigrants; Dr. John Welty, president of the university; and Dr. Luz Gonzalez, Dean of the College of Social Science.

Both Dean Gonzalez and President Welty told the crowd of students that it was their duty to contact their elected official and push them to vote for the DREAM Act. If interested, below is video from speeches at the rally today.

ACLU Pushes College to Single out Conservative Opinion

By Adam Weinberg, on April 09, 2010

Editor's note:  Have you read Morton Blackwell's list of typical leftist abuses and bias on campus?  If not, check it out here!  You'll find that the story told in this post definitely fits well into the list.  While you're at it, take a look at the rest of CampusReform.org's activism resources, some of which you may not have noticed.  You can read this valuable archive of activism tips and wisdom here.

Dr. Bradley Lopez is a biased professor. But unlike most of the cases you read about on Campus Reform, Dr. Lopez is not a fervent peddler of leftist and anti-American rhetoric.

Lopez is a Christian who has taught a health science course at Fresno City College for nearly two decades. He has become the subject of a complaint issued by three students represented by the ACLU, accusing him of insulting gay people in his course, which includes a section on homosexuality.

I'm telling you about Bradley Lopez because he is apparently one of the very few professors getting in trouble for espousing a personal view in his lessons, and that is because his opinion is traditionally conservative.
