College professor: ‘Climate change genocide’ will be worse than Holocaust

By odarcy, on May 16, 2012 | CUNY Brooklyn College

A professor at Brooklyn College recently published a series of articles on the official campus website in which he associated climate change skeptics with early Holocaust deniers.

How to Use Facebook Effectively

By Tony Listi, on May 16, 2012

Facebook can be a great organizing, activism, information intelligence, communication, and marketing tool for activists and organizers.

Student groups and activists should make full use of its benefits:

  • Identifying like-minded students and non-student supporters
  • Circulating online petitions against your opposition and for your cause(s)
  • Staying informed about what like-minded campus, local, state, and national organizations are doing and can offer your group
  • Staying informed about what opposition groups on the campus, local, state, and national levels are doing and saying
  • Communicating individually or in mass with your members, supporters, alumni, donors, or with the "general public" of your Facebook friends
    • Spreading your CampusReform.org blog posts to more people

The Georgetown 90 vs. The Georgetown 9

By mlcjeffrey, on May 14, 2012 | Georgetown University

On Friday, May 4th, Georgetown University unveiled their list of 2012 Commencement Speakers, revealing that the oldest Catholic university in America had chosen to invite Kathleen Sebelius, the architect of the HHS mandate herself, as a commencement speaker. Georgetown’s action was a direct slap in the face to the Conference of Catholic Bishops, and to every practicing Catholic. In the wake of the scandal, petitions have been circulated and letters have been written, and the university has predictably tried to change their story a few times (she’s now speaking at a “commencement event”.)

This controversy offers a chance to view in microcosm current events in the Catholic Church and the divide in American public opinion about the role of government in regulating religion. Understanding these events is crucial for all Americans who hold religious liberty dear.

Fight Political Correctness Gone Mad

By Justin Pulliam ..., on May 11, 2012

By Justin Pulliam and Morton Blackwell

Leftist domination on public colleges and universities has created "preferred" class of students and identities.  Administrators quickly cede to the demands of students with preferred identities who claim "discrimination."  They seek to appease students who are "offended" by traditional values or religion.

Blair Moses, a Black Panther who threatened to "exercise the second amendment" on conservative students at the University of Minnesota-Duluth last year, recently demanded administrators install "gender-neutral bathrooms" across campus.  Moses went on a hunger strike, made a video telling his story, and sent a letter to the administration demanding the changes.

The next day, administrators met his demands by sending a school-wide email announcing a costly new gender-neutral bathroom policy.

Universities are implementing wild policies and taking political correctness to extremes in an attempt to appease vocal minority voices on campus.

Hunger Strike Forces University to Build 'Gender Neutral' Bathrooms

By odarcy, on May 9, 2012 | University of Minnesota - Duluth

The University of Minnesota-Duluth administration ceded to student Blair Moses's demand for gender neutral bathrooms on campus after he threatened and began an extended hunger strike.

In late April, Moses sent a letter to the administration with two demands. First, he insisted they "take immediate action to begin the process of designating more gender neutral bathrooms." Second, he demanded an "announcement stating the said day of change."

In the letter, Moses threatened that if his demands were not met by April 26, he would begin  a hunger strike for three weeks or more.

Higher, Not Lower Interest Rates Will Save Education

By Timothy Dioniso..., on May 9, 2012

NOTE: This article is by Josiah Daniel Ryan and was originally posted on The Blaze.  Josiah is the communications director for the Leadership Institute's Campus Leadership Program and CampusReform.org

As the nation's total student-debt hit a staggering $1 trillion this month, Republicans and Democrats in Congress have turned to legislation that could only make the problem worse.

The Interest Rate Reduction Act,  cleared by the House and currently being debated in the Senate, would suppress borrowing rates on government Stafford Loans for low-income students at 3.4 percent instead of allowing it to rise as scheduled to 6.4 percent.

The average university student graduating in 2010 had borrowed $25,250. Unemployment in 2010 for graduates sat at 9.1 percent. Associated Press analysis from 2011 revealed 53.6 percent of unemployment or underemployment for graduates under the age of 25.

Protest Liberal Graduation Speakers to Promote Your Group

By Justin Pulliam ..., on May 8, 2012

By Justin Pulliam and Morton Blackwell

The campus left is already gearing up to protest conservative commencement speakers.  The liberal students are committed to reaching their goal:  intimidate university administrators from hosting conservatives in the future.

The LGBT rights activists at Think Progress are already protesting Mitt Romney's upcoming speech at Liberty University.

The Occupy movement is organizing "Occupy Graduation" protests at campuses across the county.  Expect a large Occupy turnout at the University of North Caroline at Chapel Hill, where New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is speaking.

Liberal students will come out in full force on commencement day to protest the rare conservative commencement speakers.  Conservative students should also be out in full force on commencement day to protest outrageously leftist speakers.

Stop Selective Censorship on Auburn's Campus

By Timothy Dioniso..., on May 7, 2012 | Auburn University Main Campus

NOTE: This is an op-ed written by Eric Philllips a student activist at Auburn University.  It was originally published on oanow.com.

Did you know the Auburn administration limits demonstrations, speeches and debates to a 20-foot-wide free speech zone on our 1,843 acre campus? Did you know it is a violation of campus rules to display posters in your dorm room windows?

I began to explore these alarming facts late last year when I was ordered to remove a Ron Paul sign from my window because it violated a safety rule. I was told if I left the banner, I risked expulsion from housing and losing my "good standing."

This is selective censorship from bureaucrats hostile to my views. Other banners, stickers and flags, are routinely tolerated in windows and on the side of campus buildings.
