According to The University of Pennsylvania
 Professor Philippe Bourgois:

  • Conservatives"brutalize the poor" and are "mean-spirited schmucks"
  • Police are "rough, mean, vicious, nasty and piggish"
  • Police will make up charges to incarcerate you
  • Karl Marx is "useful" and we need to revisit his concepts
  • The prison system in America is"an unjustifiable outrage"
  • America is a "perverse place, notthe Land of the Free"
  • Doctors "make tons of money" off the poor

There has been no shortage of  partisan teaching in the news lately, but Professor Philippe Bourgois of The University of Pennsylvania may have just brought proselytizing from the lectern to a new low.

Utilize Internet and Social Media to Recruit and Expand Your Influence

By Justin Pulliam, on May 22, 2012

By Justin Pulliam and Morton Blackwell

Did you know you can earn media coverage for your conservative organization, raise money, and recruit new members without ever stepping foot from your dorm?

Use powerful social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook and build an attractive website to increase your organization's influence on campus.

Political technology determines political success.  For many years the left invested enormous amounts of time and money into Internet technology while conservatives stood on the sidelines.  Over the past few years, however, conservatives have fought back and are now overtaking liberals.

It's important for conservatives to win in 2012.  Conservative student activists will play a crucial role this year.  Don't sit on the sidelines this summer.  Even if you have a job, are away from school, or are studying abroad, you can promote your student group and advance the conservative movement with the Internet.

People Power: General Recruitment Tips and Tactics

By Tony Listi, on May 17, 2012

An effective, ongoing recruitment operation is the cornerstone of all other activities a student group does. People and the time and talent they voluntarily give to your group are your most important resources, more important than money. You can't and won't want to do everything on your own. Plus you won't be able to effectively advance the mission of your group without a team.

How to Use Facebook Effectively

By Tony Listi, on May 17, 2012

Facebook can be a great organizing, activism, information intelligence, communication, and marketing tool for activists and organizers.

Student groups and activists should make full use of its benefits:

  • Creating a place online on where people on Facebook can find you
  • Identifying like-minded students and non-student supporters
  • Circulating online petitions against your opposition and for your cause(s)
  • Staying informed about what like-minded campus, local, state, and national organizations are doing and can offer your group
  • Staying informed about what opposition groups on the campus, local, state, and national levels are doing and saying
  • Communicating individually or in mass with your members, supporters, alumni, donors, or with the "general public" of your Facebook friends
    • Spreading your CampusReform.org blog posts to more people

How to Have Effective Group Meetings

By Tony Listi, on May 17, 2012

Student group meetings are crucial to effective organization, communication, and development of dedication and leadership. For building trust, camaraderie and loyalty, nothing can replace face-to-face interaction.

What does an effective meeting accomplish? Well, it depends on what kind of meeting it is. Is this a meeting for your mass supporters or for your dedicated membership? You should have a two-tiered membership with separate meetings for supporters and members. How many of each type of meeting you should have will vary depending on how much progress your group has made in recruitment and instilling dedication.

The primary objective of mass meetings for supporters is to turn the supporters into dedicated members. These meetings should instill an heroic sense of urgency and dedication for the cause and thus motivate students to participate in activism. The meetings should also build trust, camaraderie, loyalty, and friendship between the leadership and the supporters. Thus the content of these meetings should be partially educational and partially social.

The educational element should focus on philosophy and history that....
