when someone asks me what leftist means, what should I say? shouldn't we all be on the same "page" on this?

I might be able to help you here Clare.  I have an online Constitution class (http://www.ablackconservativedigest.ning.com) and as such I have posted a video that explains the governments of the left as opposed to the governments of the right. Most people confuse fascism with being of the right. Truly it is the Left who are the fascist. The Left believes in expansive government in all areas of your life and limited freedom from government control. Therefore fascism, socialism, communism, they are all part of the Left. The Right believes in limited government and freedom from government interference. However, when we lose our minds, we create anarchy. Therefore anarchy is not some revolutionary, leftist thing but what happens when the Right goes extreme.

There are five forms of government.

Monarchy-when an individual king or ruler governs. As in explained in the video, the king or ruler never makes unilateral decisions therefore a true monarchy does not exist.

Oligarchy-that is when a small group governs the larger group. Oligarchies are the most common form of government.

Democracy-Where the majority rules, which is often mob rul and can easily lead to tyranny.

Republic-which is what we are and it is based on the law.

Anarchy-which is no government. It is often temporary and results in chaos. It is not a permanent government.

I hope that helps and just remember anytime someone wants the government more involved (than what is prescribed by law.) they are usually promoting a Leftist agenda. If they promoting less government, they are promoting a Rightist (is that a word? Heck if Leftist can be a  word so can Rightist I guess. LOL) agenda. Email me at A Black Conservative Digest if you have any more questions. My name on there is also Black N Right.

What about the Right-Wing Abuse contest? Or is this contest hilarious for being the same bias that it claims to fight.

People like you slay me concernedcit.  For instance, I can't be against abortion unless I am willing to adopt every kid in America. It is the same logic, if we concentrate on Leftist abuse which is more prominent now than that of the Right, you take it to mean we think it is okay if the Right does it. That is how liberals think and act and they think everyone thinks like them.  The Left thinks they are victims of everything it is really quite sad. While the Right will see such abuse as a betrayal of our values and principles, the Left will just find a way to justify and rationalize why they must act the way they do.  The purpose of this site is not to shut the Left up (which would be impossible anyway, not to mention against the First Amendment which we hold dear) but to give the Right a voice on the campus that they are currently attending!

Dear blacknright:

I know it very fashionable for certain factions of the Right to claim that Fascism is the historical product of the Left.  That is simply not factual.  Totalitarian or authoritarian governments have used both ideologies of the Right and Left throughout history, but Fascism was indisputably the product of Rightist regimes in Italy and Germany in the 1930s.  Traditionally the far Right has been no more of a fan of small, limited government than has the far Left.  Fascism has usually been accompanied by "agressive nationalism and often racism."

This definitions is from Dictionary.com:

1. (sometimes initial capital letter) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism. 2. (sometimes initial capital letter) the philosophy, principles, or methods of fascism. 3. (initial capital letter) a fascist movement, esp. the one established by Mussolini in Italy 1922–43.
