Politically Neutral Occupy Technology

By Morton Blackwell

I recently obtained a copy of Occupy's official training manual for spring 2012. You shall almost certainly find it interesting.

The "99% Spring Training Guide" is in some ways an impressive document. It contains a long list of tactics activists have successfully deployed for decades to organize and affect political change.

In fact, their guide contains some of the legitimate tactics I have taught at the Leadership Institute for years.

Most political technology is philosophically neutral. This leftist manual includes some advice and techniques you can use to topple the left wing power structure on campus and elsewhere.

But to make it clear, this is not an endorsement of Occupy, 99 percenters, or those of their tactics which are illegal, dishonorable, or destined to engender violence.

Leftist radicals wrote this guide to advance their extremist agenda. If conservatives were to allow them to attain their goals, millions of jobs would vanish from the American economy. In power, their ideology would prohibit everything except what they decide to make compulsory.

It would become more difficult for you to find a job when you graduate. Their aim is to bolster dependance from cradle to grave and impose a government monopoly of power.

In the name of "global warming" extreme leftists would prevent America from using our own vast supplies of domestic oil, coal, and natural gas. Such policies would result in skyrocketing fuel prices. The global economy would stagnate, making everyone poorer. The authors of this document do not acknowledge that as a result of technologies developed under the free market, pollution has enormously declined in the recent decades.

You may notice this manual begins with a liberal perversion of American history littered with historical inaccuracies, half-truths, and lies. Many of the historical figures they invoke in the name of their cause would reject their tactics and despise their ideology.

Thomas Jefferson and the other founding fathers were not Marxists. Mahatma Ghandi did not advocate the lawless tactics recommended in these pages.

On page 21 the author attacks one of this nation's greatest presidents, arguing Ronald Reagan collaborated in "pitting us against each other in our politics." If President Reagan's economic policies were followed by current political leaders, unemployment and fuel prices would be lower, while prosperity for all Americans would be on the rise. Under the policies of President Reagan, it is unlikely the Occupy movement would exist at all.

Despite what they know of political technology, their quest to infect the general public with their poisonous ideology has utterly failed. The Occupy movement claims to be writing a new "story" but in reality they have suffered resounding defeat after resounding defeat.

The manual, published in February, predicted that "100,000 strong" would gather across America from April 9-15 "in homes, places of worship, campuses and the street to join together in the work of reclaiming our country." They hoped to radicalize huge numbers of young people through mass demonstrations.

Those April protests, moved to May 1, were a failure. CNN reluctantly admitted "that the small demonstrations in many American cities and in other cities across the world had little effect." Nationwide hundreds, not thousands, took to the streets.

But in other ways Occupy has significantly advanced the leftist agenda over the past year. Their disruptive tactics, lawless behavior, and rotten agenda have captured the imagination of the left-wing media. The liberal administrations, student government associations, and academic departments that dominate many of you campuses remain enamored with Occupy's juvenile tantrums.

You and I can reverse these trends.

Use this guide to know your enemy and take from them what is most valuable.

Elected officials cannot effectively counter Occupy, which is primarily a youth movement. It is up to conservative youth to counter the occupy movement and to advocate principles for a free and prosperous America. Your country is counting on you to take action. I -- along with the full resources of the Leadership Institute -- will arm you with the skills needed to win and help you through this fight.

We will be successful in 2012 only if conservative youth counter Occupy. There has never been a better opportunity for you to stand up for your principles and your country and become a leader of the conservative movement.

Take advantage of this insider view of the radical left so you can honorably fight back and win.
