College hired 24-hour security for nativity scene

The scene at Greensboro College has been vandalized in the past

A North Carolina college has hired a 24-hour security team to protect its nativity scene from the vandalism it had suffered in the past.

The scene at Greensboro College will be protected by cameras and an around-the-clock guard until it is taken down on Jan. 1, according to an article posted on digtriad.com, a local news source.

"It's my first time ever having to work on Christmas and being away from my family is hard but we have to do what we have to do," said Stancil Locklear, who guarded the scene Dec. 25.

The scene had been completely destroyed in 2007. Then, after it was rebuilt, two sheep were stolen last year.
