What Events do Your Activity Fees Fund?

Knowing where your activity fees get spent is an investigation worth doing.  It probably doesn't take long at all to do either.  Often times it might be posted on a website or uncovered with a quick email to a member of your student senate.  For me it took all but ten minutes.

A quick look at the budget for the Gustavus Student Senate, which controls allocations of activity fees for the school, showed that $1000 in activity fees at the school are going to finance a "Drag Show Performer" during "Coming Out Week."

Also on the budget is $100 for "Smitten Kitten."

The only hint as to what "Smitten Kitten" could possibly be comes from a website for a store called "Smitten Kitten" in Minnesota which allegedly is "a multiple award winning, progressive adult sex toys and equipment retailer specializing in the highest quality, safest and smartest selection of products available." So perhaps Gustavus students' activity fees are going towards the purchase of "progressive adult sex toys?"
