This year marks the 47th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, which held that the U.S. Constitution gives women the option of whether to have an abortion.

For decades since, pro-life Americans have descended on Washington, D.C. for the annual March for Life, and this year was no different.

Campus Reform’s Cabot Phillips went to this year’s March for Life to ask attendees there what the most common misconceptions of pro-life individuals are and why they oppose abortion.  Here are some of their comments:

  • ”It’s nice to see a bunch of Christians and non-Christians all coming together to fight for the cause of life.”
  • ”The left likes to claim to be the party of science when in reality the science is that life does begin at conception.”
  • ”I think it’s very important that we make sure that all human lives are protected, especially the most vulnerable among us. Who’s more vulnerable than babies, right?”
  • ”In many of the same ways that we look back and regret not having something about some of the worst atrocities of our time, be it the Holocaust, be it American child slavery, I think time will bear that this is a stain on both our nation’s conscience and our individual conscience if we say nothing and do nothing.”
  • ”You shouldn’t just get to kill another human being just because it might be inconvenient to you.”
  • ”They like to say it’s just an old white man Christian thing but we see there’s a multitude of younger people, a multitude of women...”
  • ”One person’s recklessness shouldn’t have to cause another person’s life to end.”
