5 times campus leftists attempted to silence pro-lifers in 2020

Campus leftists lashed out at pro-life students multiple times in 2020.

Below are five of the most egregious instances of attacks on pro-life students.

1. University of North Texas

Conservative students at the University of North Texas planted 1,000 flags on university grounds to memorialize the victims of abortion. However, the students captured video of leftist students digging up and stealing the flags.

An officer in the school’s College Democrats chapter encouraged the vandalism.

2. Miami University Ohio

Students at Miami University in Ohio vandalized and destroyed a public display created by the school’s Students for Life chapter.

Alli Lowe, a member of Students for Life, told Campus Reform that the university remained silent: “I reached out to multiple members of the administration, who refused to do anything.”

3. Iowa State University

An English professor at Iowa State University banned discussion opposed to abortion, gay marriage, and Black Lives Matter in one of her classes.

“You cannot choose any topic that takes at its base that one side doesn’t deserve the same basic human rights as you do (ie: no arguments against gay marriage, abortion, Black Lives Matter, etc). I take this seriously,” the professor’s syllabus stated.

“Any instances of othering that you participate in intentionally (racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia... transphobia, classism, mocking of mental health issues, body shaming, etc) in class are grounds for dismissal from the classroom,” it added.

Clark also allowed students to request trigger warnings at any time.

4. Case Western Reserve University

When Case Western’s student government held a vote to allocate funds toward extracurricular clubs, including Students for Life, a group of students petitioned against the vote.

According to the petition, funds should not be granted to a group “whose mission revolves around reducing access to healthcare by means of guilting, shaming, and terrorizing vulnerable individuals.”

The authors asserted that “it’s coercive to present morally-founded opinions” on the abortion issue.

5. University of Florida

Members of the Young Americans for Freedom club at the University of Florida obtained permission to place pink flags around campus, commemorating the lives lost due to abortion.

Students later found their classmates gathering the pink flags and stuffing them into trash bags.

”It is so disappointing to see that the First Amendment is still not a priority to UF,” said the university’s YAF president to Campus Reform.
