SUNDAY OPINION: Crossover with Caleb Bonham: The hypocrisy of liberal clowns

So how do liberals and conservatives react when faced with offensive speech?

Which side supports free speech and which side is actively trying to control it?

On August 12th, following feigned national outrage from the media and liberals alike, the Missouri State Fair imposed a lifetime ban on a rodeo clown who wore a mask of President Obama.

WATCH: Crossover with Caleb Bonham. “Liberal bias and abuse runs rampant and it’s time we draw a line in the sand.”

Missouri Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill, outraged at the rodeo controversy, said “young Missourians who witnessed this stunt learned exactly the wrong lesson about political discourse — that somehow it’s ever acceptable to, in a public event, disrespect, taunt, and joke about harming the President of our great nation.”

Wait. Was that the same Senator McCaskill who demonstrated her own version of “proper political discourse” in 2006 by stating “George Bush let people die on rooftops in New Orleans because they were poor and because they were black.”

See, the issue here is not what constitutes “proper political discourse.” The issue to those up in arms is the target of which such scorn was directed.

Somehow it’s ok for liberals to accuse a conservative President of being a vengeful racist but the second a rodeo performer takes a minor jab at the almighty Obama, well, that just crosses the line.

It’s the same story on college campuses across the nation.

What used to be bastions of critical thinking and diversity of opinion have turned into leftist indoctrination hubs. Freedom of speech is censored and diversity of thought is discouraged.

Liberals made sure that the Missouri clown was fired and labeled a racist. Progressive leaders called for a lifetime ban and the NAACP wanted the Secret Service to investigate.

The left ruined this man and it is a clear demonstration of how the progressive movement treats free speech.
