About Mary
Mary Stevens is a journalist and reporter at the Daily Mining Gazette in Houghton, Michigan. She holds degrees in English and French from Michigan Technological University, where she concentrated on journalism and media. While at Michigan Tech, Mary was highly involved in campus life—serving as a Resident Assistant, Senior Writing Coach, House Manager of her sorority, and Media Director for the university’s chapter of Turning Point USA. She also worked as a correspondent for Campus Reform, covering campus news and political issues from a student perspective. Her writing has appeared in Trill Magazine, and she is the host of the No News is Bad News podcast on Spotify. Mary is currently working on publishing her first book and continues to bring a strong, insightful voice to regional journalism in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
